3000LB FITTINGS

3000lb fittings are heavy-duty, high-pressure forged components used in demanding industrial piping systems.

They are manufactured to withstand pressures up to approximately 3000 PSI (206 bar) and come in threaded or socket weld configurations.

Key Features and Specifications

  • Material: Commonly made from ASTM A105 carbon steel or ASTM A182 316/316L stainless steel. Carbon steel is often available as black (self-colour) or hot-dipped galvanised for added corrosion resistance.
  • Pressure Rating: Designated as Class 3000, suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature applications, with a maximum operating pressure of around 3000 PSI or 206 bar.
  • Standards: Dimensions and pressure ratings adhere to industry standards, primarily ASME B16.11 and BS3799.
  • Connection Types:
    • Threaded: Features NPT (National Pipe Taper) threads to ASME B1.20.1 or BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) threads to ISO 7-1, providing an easy, non-welded connection for maintenance flexibility.

Socket Weld (SW): Involves inserting the pipe end into a recessed area and welding it around the hub, offering superior strength and leak integrity, especially in vibrating systems.
