Low Resistance & Full Flow: Swing Check Valves

Swing check valves feature an internal disc that hangs from a top hinge or shaft. When forward fluid pressure enters the valve, the disc swings completely up and out of the flow path. When the flow slows down or reverses, gravity and the weight of the disc swing it back down onto its seat, creating a reliable seal.

Because the disc clears the main waterway when fully open, swing check valves offer a full-bore flow path with exceptionally low flow resistance and minimal pressure drop.

  • Best Used For: Wastewater management, thick or viscous liquids, slurry pipelines, and gravity-fed systems.
  • Key Advantage: The clear, unobstructed flow path makes them highly resistant to clogging or trapping suspended solids.
  • Installation Flex: Must be installed horizontally, or vertically only where the fluid flows upwards, ensuring gravity can safely close the disc.
