CHANNEL & BRACKETS

Strut channel and brackets form a versatile, modular metal framing system used for constructing support structures for various mechanical and electrical services.

Available in slotted or plain type, allowing for easy and flexible attachment of accessories without welding or extensive drilling.

Commonly referred to as Unistrut, although other brands are available, these are C-shaped metal channels available in different dimensions, materials, and finishes to suit diverse applications.

They are often used for supporting cable containment (trays, conduits), HVAC ducting, pipework, and creating general frameworks, bracing, and racking systems.

Standard sizes in the UK typically include 41x82mm (back to back) 41x41mm (standard-duty) and 41x21mm (low profile/lightweight) profiles.

They are commonly sold in 3m and 6m lengths

    • Pre-Galvanised Steel: Suitable for internal applications.
    • Hot-Dipped Galvanised (HDG) Steel: Offers superior corrosion resistance for external and industrial environments.
    • Stainless Steel: Used in highly corrosive or marine environments.

Compatible Brackets

A wide array of brackets and fittings are designed to work seamlessly with the slotted channel system, secured using channel nuts and bolts.

  • Angle Brackets: Used for creating 90° corners (flat or gusseted), 45°, and other obtuse angles.
  • Flat Plates: Connect channel sections in a straight line or to form T-junctions or cross shapes.
  • Cantilever Arms: Provide robust, wall-mounted support, extending outwards to hold cable trays or pipework away from the mounting surface.
  • Base/Floor Plates: Used for securing channel lengths to concrete floors, walls, or other substrates.
