HANDRAIL FITTINGS

Galvanised handrail fittings are robust, corrosion-resistant components used to construct durable handrail and barrier systems, particularly for outdoor use. They are made from malleable or ductile iron and hot-dip galvanised for long-lasting weather protection. 

Common Types

These fittings are designed to connect galvanised steel tubes without the need for welding, using grub screws secured with an Allen key. 

  • Handrail Brackets: Used to secure the handrail tube to a wall or a flat surface. They can also be used as a fixing for a low rail on top of walls.
  • Base Flanges: These form the base of vertical posts and are used to secure the structure to the ground or wall using bolts.
  • Corner/Elbow Fittings: Different types of elbows (e.g., 90-degree elbows, variable angle elbows) are used to navigate corners and changes in elevation, essential for staircases and ramps.
  • Tees and Crosses: These allow for the creation of joints along straight sections, such as connecting uprights to top or middle rails in a multi-rail system.
  • Internal Joints/Connectors: These fittings allow tubes to be seamlessly joined internally, maintaining a continuous external appearance.
