Heavy-Duty & High-Capacity: Flanged Lever Ball Valves

Flanged lever ball valves are the industry standard for robust, high-pressure fluid isolation in large-diameter piping networks. Unlike threaded alternatives, these valves feature integrated, solid outer rims (flanges) at each opening. They are bolted directly onto corresponding pipe flanges with a heavy-duty gasket sandwiched in between, creating an exceptionally strong, leak-proof mechanical joint.

Because of their rigid construction, flanged ball valves are engineered to withstand high mechanical stress, severe thermal cycling, and high flow rates, making them essential for municipal water mains, chemical processing, and industrial plant systems.

Key Body Configurations

Flanged ball valves are built to handle structural loads and are typically split into two main designs:

  • 2-Piece Split Body: The most widely used configuration for industrial applications. The body is split into two bolted sections, providing a rugged, full-bore flow path that is easy to service during scheduled plant shutdowns.
  • 3-Piece Body: Built for high-frequency or severe-service lines. It allows the entire centre section of the valve to be serviced or replaced while the outer flanges remain bolted to the pipeline, minimizing downtime.

Key Technical Specifications

  • Flange Standards & Face Types: Precision-machined to comply with global standards, including EN 1092-1 (PN16/PN40) or ASME B16.5 (Class 150/300). Available in Raised Face (RF) for standard sealing or Ring Type Joint (RTJ) for extreme pressure.
  • Bore Profile: Standardized as a Full Bore design, ensuring the valve opening is identical to the pipe’s inner diameter. This offers completely unrestricted flow, eliminates pressure drops, and allows for pipeline pigging.
  • Fire-Safe Design: Many industrial flanged variants feature an anti-static device and a fire-safe certificate (such as API 607), ensuring the valve will still isolate safely even if the soft PTFE seals melt in a fire.
