COPPER TUBE

Copper tube is the industry standard for domestic plumbing and heating due to its durability, corrosion resistance, and antimicrobial properties.

In the UK, copper piping is typically sold in lengths or coils and must comply with BS EN 1057

Common Sizes and Types

  • 15mm: The most common size for feeding individual taps, showers, and central heating radiators.
  • 22mm: Used for main distribution runs, headers, and gravity-fed cold water systems where higher flow rates are required.
  • 28mm-54mm: Typically reserved for commercial applications.
  • Larger diameters: Available on request

Table X copper tube refers to the standard "half-hard" wall thickness pipe used for most domestic plumbing and heating installations. It is designed to be bent easily with a tool and is compatible with both compression and capillary (solder) fittings.

Table Y copper tube is a thicker-walled piping specifically designed for underground use and heavy-duty applications where additional mechanical strength and corrosion resistance are required.
