COMPRESSION FITTINGS

Brass compression fittings are mechanical connectors used to join copper pipes without the need for heat or soldering.

They create a watertight seal by compressing a soft metal ring, known as an olive (UK) between a nut and the fitting body until it "bites" into the pipe.

Common Types and Applications

These fittings are versatile and suitable for domestic and commercial water, gas, and heating systems.

  • Straight Couplings: Used for a simple end-to-end connection between two pipes.
  • Elbows: Change the direction of pipework, typically by 90 degrees.
  • Tee Fittings: Feature three connections in a 'T' shape to split or combine flow.
  • Stop Ends: Used to permanently or temporarily seal off the end of a pipe.
  • Male/Female Couplers: Connect pipework to threaded components like valves, taps, or tanks.
