HEX BITS

A Tek screw is the attachment used to drive hexagonal-headed self-drilling screws.

For standard roofing and cladding work, you almost always need an 8mm (5/16") size.

Key Features to Look For

  • Magnetic Retention: Essential for holding the screw in place during one-handed installation, especially when working at heights.
  • Impact Rating: If you are using an impact driver, ensure the bit is "impact rated" (often made from S2 or Chrome Vanadium steel) to prevent the bit from shattering under high torque.
  • Standard Shank: Most use a 1/4" hex shank, making them compatible with almost all modern cordless drills and impact drivers
