PRE-GALVANISED FINISH

Pre-galvanised (PG) strut channel is supplied with a protective zinc coating, primarily used to build modular support and framing systems for electrical, mechanical, and industrial applications.

It is available in various sizes and is a cost-effective solution for indoor or protected outdoor use.

The holes are punched in a slotted channel after coating so the edges of the holes are bare metal, where this is a problem hot dipped galv finish is preferred.

Product Specifications

  • Thickness: Heavy-duty channels are typically 2.5mm thick, while lighter gauge options of 1.5mm are also available.
  • Finish: The pre-galvanisation process involves feeding steel strip through a continuous zinc coater, which provides a protective, corrosion-resistant finish suitable for a range of internal and some external applications. For severe corrosion applications, hot-dipped galvanised (HDG) is recommended.
  • Type: Available as plain (unslotted) for maximum load-bearing strength or slotted (pre-punched holes) to allow for flexible and easy installation with various brackets and fixings.
